This is the basic knowledge of Computer application to Law and it is dealt with by the Lecturere in the class. Therefore I need to set out those basic notions as to the Computer & Research.

Among all other things, I find it interesting to visth “Project Xanadu”

This is said to cure the one-way hypertext such as World Wide Web. And it is said to provide both way communication. This means that  any one may publish connected comments to any page. But All quotations and excerpts stay connected to their original.

Furthemore, everyone can resue all content virtually, simply by listing the disired contend. Since links are between the adresses of these contents, links are intrinsically bidirectional, may be made by everyone, and may overlap in vast numbers.

Since the original addresses of contents is known, its origianl context may be obtained. The website does not go any further than this and it says there are various places where these matters are written up at lenggh such as the recent Xanadu technical summary for the ACM.

Overseas Legal Research

This is the American Legal Research site and we have been to this site with the lecturer. I do not find much different from Australian Legal Research site.

This site features as follows. It does not seem to provide any particular distinctions or differences.

http://www.law.cornell.edu/

 Canadian Legal Research

Compared to the American site, it is much diversified and it looks that you will have much more resoruces for legal research in Canadidan site than the that of American.

Semantic Web & Schemaweb

The Semantic Web provides a common framework that allows data to be shared and reused across application, enterprise, and community boundaries. It is a collaborative effort led by W3C with participation from a large number of researchers and industrial partners. It is based on the Resource Description Framework

http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/

The Semantic Web is an exciting vision for the future of information technology, but it is a vision that presupposes the ability to represent web content with efficiency and expressiveness. If a scalable way to add semantics to the World Wide Web (WWW) can be found, the Semantic Web will create a world where agents, search engines, and other programs can read semantic markup to decipher the real meaning of a web page. The Semantic Web-aware agents will be able to retrieve computer readable facts, integrate and reason about those facts, answer questions, solve problems, and generally bring a new level of intelligence to the WWW that is unimaginable with today’s technology. For a good introduction read Scientific American’s article, “The Semantic Web”.

FreeMind – free mind mapping software

FreeMind is a free mind mapping tool and software is written in Java. The recent development has hopefully turned it into high productivity tool.

Basically, the tool or machine does not replace its simplisitic logic with human being’s reasoning process. Pesonally, I do not believe it could. But a lot of tools have been developed to enable them to help to make decisions like followong:

The interesting fact is that the certificate SSL123 is thawte’s entry level certificate which provides validation that your domain is registered and that you have authorized the purchase of the certificate. Through SSL encryption, the certificate assures that information is kept private between your web server and your clients’ web browse.
